Wedding favours for children
Who doesn't love a party bag? I think these from not on the high street http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/dottieandbelle/product/wedding-favours-for-the-little-ones are a fab idea for children.
It would be fab to personalise these for each child, as there will be few children at our wedding I am sure that would be possible, although I may need advice from a parent as to what is appropriate for each age!

Brooch bouquet
Love this Brooch Bouquet from Lilybuds Bouquets on Etsy http://www.etsy.com/shop/LillybudsBouquets?ref=seller_info. There are so many lovely designs. They are really pricey so I am thinking of having a go at making my own using florists wire. I love vintage Jewellery and it is often quite cheap to pick up so I think it might be worth a try despite my lack of artistic talent.

Mendhi
I have always thought Mendhi designs are really beautiful but being involved in my friends preparations helped me to realise what a lovely process the occasion is. I would love to incorporate this into my wedding as it is really nice to have time with your female friends a few days before the big day in an informal and relaxed setting. I think something simple just on the palm or foot would be best for me. There are so many beautiful designs to choose from.
House wife tips number 1.
In the lead up to the wedding I am trying to become more domesticated, I hate it when people come round and the place is a mess, so far I am being fairly successful but I ain't no Anthea Turner yet. I find that having good cleaning products makes it slightly more tolerable. No one likes to clean out the dishwasher filter, but these little tablets make the dishwasher cleaner and leave your plates and glasses shiny. They also smell lovely which is a bonus.

Confetti
I love petal confetti like this one above from http://www.confettidirect.co.uk/delphiniums.html. The cost of the cones is however extortionate but there are many guides on how to make your own I love this one http://dineatmine.blogspot.co.uk/2011/06/how-to-make-your-own-confetti-cones.html.
Shropshire petals also has lots of lovely mixes, and I like the idea of their wheat sheaves, either as a bouquet option or as table decorations. http://www.shropshirepetals.com/shop/3_Wheat_Sheaves. They would be both long lasting and also probably cheaper than fresh flowers I think.

carnival style
Love these tickets from not on the high street, £2.50 for 50 http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/millyscottage/product/admit-one-tickets-pack-of-50. They are a cheap way to add a touch of individuality to the styling of the day. Just need to think of a way to incorporate them.
Dress shopping.
You are supposed to order your wedding dress in the region of 9-12 months in advance, who knew? not me for sure. I was quite phobic about dress shopping, but my mother made me take the plunge and off we went to venture into the world of the wedding dress.
We went to to shops, both of which were very different experiences. One the classic overbearing middle aged assistant clearly not the place for someone as easily intimidated as me. The other much friendlier and relaxed. Here the assistant gave helpful advice but in a more gentle and understated way. She had me trying on dresses I wouldn't have even considered but they were surprisingly nice! Anyway I need to get on it and try some other places because the deadline is looming and panic is setting in.

jubilympic nails
A bit off topic but here is my attempt at GB themed nails. Totally excited about the Olympics and keen to integrate some kind of Olympic theme, although I have no idea how?

Bunting
All this Jubilee bunting has reminded me of my love of of it. I think it could look fab at the venue particularly as I am not planning on extensive floral arrangements. I especially love this one from paperchase http://www.paperchase.co.uk/invt/00495687/ although at £9 a go the cost could quickly add up. Perhaps I will have a go at some DIY bunting, I will probably have to start now to get it ready in time!

Lomography
I love lomography style photo's, both the effects given and the style of framing the shots is appealing. I have shot masses of film although my skills are lacking and therefore the results are variable to say the least. It is difficult to find wedding photographers promoting this style of pictures at wedding fairs etc but online there are many. With the popularity of instagram I think it is a trend which is likely to gain pace. Emma case photography is a fab example, see here
http://emmacasephotography.blogspot.co.uk/
I am also hoping to have lomo camera's on the tables instead of disposables. Hopefully they will add an extra layer of interest although the results could be interesting!

Wedding Fitness Number 1
C 2 5K is a running app for complete beginners, which is a bonus for me because I have a similar running style to Phoebe from friends.
The idea is that you will be able to go from couch to running 5K in 8 weeks. I have done the first run so far and it is the most successful I have ever been jogging! The app is really easy to use and the instructions are clear, you can also use it alongside apps like run keeper so you can listen to music and track your distance at the same time.
There is a free version of the app with the first 4 runs to enable you to try it first, I will update when I have tried a few more of the runs, hopefully I will be able to keep it up!

The Ring
I know it's on the wrong finger, but the pictures I took on the right finger kept coming out too dark, so in the end I gave up.
This ring was from Francis and Gaye, and I am posting as I have just had it re-sized, the service there was fab. It was done in a few hours and it was cleaned and re Rhodium plated as well all for free! It looks so much better now it has been done and I will definitely have it done again before the wedding day.

Wedding fair at the zoo...
I picked up lots of nice ideas at the wedding show at Twycross zoo on Sunday, there were quite a few local suppliers who were really helpful.
Despite previously being set against having wedding cars I couldn't help but be drawn in by the VW van on display from www.vwandvogueweddingcars.co.uk,
There were several lovely florists, the ladies from B1 blooms were particularly helpful and answered questions I had about hydrangea's as a potential wedding bouquet. Another had a display which included a vintage tea cup with flowers in ( although not as complex as the one above), which I thought was a really nice way to incorporate vintage crockery if your venue won't allow you to use hired in crockery.
Champneys Springs were also there for Hen-do's and they had some great packages, the ladies were really nice and not at all intimidating. Overall it was a really useful little event, the zoo itself can also be hired as a wedding venue which I think could be really lovely if you are into zoo's!

Blogging beginner
Hello,
This will be my little wedding blog, with posts collecting together lots of wedding preparation ideas. Without any blogging experience I doubt there will be many groundbreaking posts, but I hope I can use the blog to help me remember all the wedding related paraphernalia that I like so that by the time I get married I don't miss out any essentials!
